A Welcoming Entry to Our School
Teacher Leader and Site Based Liaison, Renee Bourgoine-Serio, saw an opportunity to create a more welcoming entrance to the Peaks Island School when she started working there in 2015. With the help of the community and school department, an old chain link fence was removed, and a storage block was revitalized by student artwork. Renee hopes this is the beginning of more greening projects to come for the island school!
Quote (from a third grader): “And now every year the grade 5 students will repaint the block house with their own memories. That will be me in 2 years!!!”
